Saturday, August 31, was the "Fill the Boot" fundraiser for the Copperopolis Community Food Pantry. This fundraiser is held twice a year, on the Memorial Day weekend and Labor day weekend. Organized by the Copper Volunteer Firefighters and staffed by our firemen, local VFW members and Food Pantry volunteers, these events raise the lion's share of funds which support the pantry throughout the year. We thank all our volunteers and of course the members of our community and the visitors who gave so generously to make this event a success.

"FILL THE BOOT"
We had a record-breaking month! 60 households with 172 individuals were served. This is a record for a non-holiday month! I think the new location is a success. It's in a highly visible area and convenient for many of the families we serve.

Regards,
Lorraine Crawford
"TASTE OF THE HOLIDAYS"

The volunteers of the Copperopolis Community Food Pantry, community garden and Copper Parks and Recreation worked at The Taste of the Holidays event in Town Square on Saturday, November 9. This event is a benefit fund-raiser for the three groups. Local restaurants and wineries team up to offer delicious food and wine pairings at various stores. The weather was perfect and the event-goers enjoyed the food and good company of their friends.
